The suits at Fox have decied to push up the release of the CGI/live action hybrid "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" by two days,--from a Christmas Day release to a Wednesday, December 23rd bow reports Variety.
The move is happening in response to figures showing that more than three-quarters of kids will be out of school by the Wednesday of that week and Fox hopes to start cash counting in early before the busy frame really gets going.
The move puts the studios other big release Avatar within less than a week of Chipmunks 2
The comedy, directed by Betty Thomas, stars Jason Lee, Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Amy Poehler.
