Is the fictional character Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat-criminal/an occasional crime fighter/an ex-girlfriend of Spider-Man going to make a splash in Spider-Man 4?
There's certainly enough chatter on the Internet about the character possible screen debut.
Mania reported that Rachel McAdams met with producers and director Sam Raimi about the role which would be one of the two villains in the film, the other being a male villain currently being cast which would mean Dylan Baker's Dr. Curt Conners character would not be turning into The Lizard in this chapter.
Shortly after The Guardian ran a column from actress Romola Garai who spent Tuesday morning putting herself "on tape" for the sequel though didn't specify what role she had landed.
And then finally Hey U Guys got a hold of an apparent breakdown of the character as she would appear in the film:
NOTE POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD:
"She is the daughter of the new editor of The Daily Bugle, a man who is also referred to as ‘a viper'. She falls in love with Peter Parker, and uncovers his true identity. Her father then dies, and Hardy becomes a threat to Peter Parker."
The post also says that 'viper' has some relevance, the father character could well be the second villain, but there is no Spidey villain that goes by the name Viper.
As one of my faves from Spidey lore--If true--It would be be pretty cool if Cat showed up--as long as her arc isn't over shadowed by too many villains or an over stuffed script. Stay Tuned...
