Filming on the comic book flick "Thor" is set to get underway in Los Angeles starting mid-January to met its May 20th 2011 release reports Production Weekly.Chris Hemsworth stars as Thor, Tom Hiddleston is his evil half-brother, Loki, Anthony Hopkins plays Odin and Natalie Portman plays love interest Jane Foster.
Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore and Stellan Skarsgard also star
The script by Mark Protosevich sees the powerful but arrogant warrior cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment for nearly igniting a war. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Shooting will continue for several weeks before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico from March till late-April.
