A brief cameo for Hoffman's character Bernie Focker, father of Ben Stiller's Greg, but Hoffman was reportedly unhappy with the size of his role. Some scheduling difficulties and salary issues, means Hoffman may essentially opt out of the film.
Barbra Streisand will make a return as his wife Roz with a more prominent role in the film.
The studio and Hoffman's peeps declined to comment.
The sequel is already very top heavy with high priced actors--something or someone had to give.
