Talk about fast...Robert Downey, Jr. left the film Cowboys And Aliens just a few days ago and already Collider is hearing that Daniel Craig is in the lead to replace him.
Based upon a graphic novel series the project tells the tale of Native Americans and their cowboy enemies coming together to fight off invading alien hordes in 19th-century Arizona.
Downey Jr. quit the project, directed by Iron Man filmmaker Jon Favreau, to concentrate on a Sherlock Holmes sequel.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Transformers," "Star Trek") adapted the script.
Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Steven Spielberg and Scott Rosenberg will produce the picture.
