"I Love You Phillip Morris" and "Bad Santa" duo John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are in negotiations to direct Steve Carell's as yet untitled flick says THR.
Written by Dan Fogelman, the film revolves around a father who is going through a marital crises while managing the relationships with his children.
Denise Di Novi Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres will produce the pic.
Carell has no less than 3 films set to hit screens in 2010 including "Date Night" with Tina Fey, the animated "Despicable Me" and later in the year he reunites with Paul Rudd for "Dinner For Schmucks".
It's odd that Requa and Ficarra who like material with an edge will do such a straight forward sounding film.
