AICN reports that Tim Burton is interestied in making a live-action feature based on the villainous Maleficent from Disney's 1959 fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty".



The film would tell 'Beauty' from Maleficent's point of view.

Further details on the project have yet to be revealed but it would be distributed by Disney where Burton just made a new vision of “Alice in Wonderland".

Intriguing idea given Burton's darker sense of storytelling but what about his Dark Shadows based on the 1966-71 TV series?
