The Spiderwick Chronicles team and producers Gregory Little, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman have optioned Kat Falls' upcoming underwater adventure novel "Dark Life" for the big screen says Variety.

While it won't land on book shelves until May, the tale is set in the near future, where rising ocean levels and other natural catastrophes have forced some people to relocate to the sea floor. But a teenage boy who lives below and a surface-dwelling girl discover a government conspiracy they must join forces to expose it before it's too late

A director is currently being sought before it goes out to the studios
