Robert Downey Jr.. has dropped out of the sci-fi western "Cowboys And Aliens" reports The Los Angeles Times to concentrate on the greenlit Sherlock Holmes Sequel .Downey and his "Iron Man," director Jon Favreau had been set to team on the comic book adaptation in which aliens land in Arizona circa the mid-19th century intent on enslaving the local population - until a group of cowboys and Apache Indians fight back
Now though while Favreau remains attached, the studio is seeking a new hero to replace him, in order to still meet a planned release Summer 2011.
As long as RDJ doesn't bail on Iron Man 3 it's all good...
