Update on Mad Max Fury Road

Out doing promotion for Happy Feet Two helmer George Miller gave an update on the progress of "Mad Max: Fury Road" to Coming Soon.

Theoretically, it’s next year. We have 150 big vehicles built and so on. We were all geared up for that. We were all set to shoot in the Australian desert and then unprecedented rain came and what was the wasteland — completely flat, red earth — is now a flower garden. The big massive salt flats in the center of Australia where they do record speed trials and stuff is now full of pelicans and fish… We sort of lost the wasteland ” says Miller, He is talking about the cancelled Broken Hill location shoot.

Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, and Adelaide Clemens were all set to co-star and seemingly remain attached should plans for Fury go ahead. In a bit of irony though, The Daily Telegraph reports that the production's back-up desert locations in the southwest African country of Namibia are experiencing their heaviest rainfall in 120 years--Doh!.
