Dreamworks Mounts "All Of Me" Remake

DreamWorks Studios is quietly developing a remake of the 1984 body swap comedy "All of Me" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Director Carl Reiner's original film followed a dying millionairess (Lily Tomlin) who, in trying to achieve immortality, transfers her spirit into the body of a nebbish attorney (Steve Martin). The two end up finding a way to work together.

Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein ("The Vow," "Never Been Kissed") wrote the script for the remake. This time the genders will be swapped in this version with the guy's spirit ending up inside the woman.

John Davis will produce.

The pic is still in the script development stage, leaving THR Esq to suggest the project may not happen at all due to ongoing rights and legal issues at the original production company Kings Road Entertainment.
