Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren who investigate the haunting of a farmhouse.
Writers Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes will start work on the sequel script which is going to explore some of the other famous cases the Warrens worked on,
Studio chief Toby Emmerich says "We have Lorraine's permission and support, and we are working on developing another film."
It's unknown if "Saw" and "Insidious" director Wan will return to direct due to commitments to Fast & Furious 7
