Dylan Minnette and Kerris Dorsey have joined the live-action adaptation of author Judith Viorst's children's book "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" says Deadline.
The story centers on a boy (Newcomer Ed Oxenbould) who has a very horrible day and finds out that other people can have them too.
Minnette and Dorsey will play Alexander’s older brother and sister.
Jennifer Garner will play his mother. Steve Carell is set to play the boy’s father.
"Cedar Rapids" and "Youth in Revolt" helmer Miguel Arteta calls action--Lisa Cholodenko ("The Kids Are All Right") was previously supposed to direct the project but dropped out. She and Rob Lieber wrote the adapted script.
Shawn Levy is producing.
Production begins in the fall.
