Hoffman RSVP's Favreau's "Chef"

Dustin Hoffman has joined Jon Favreau's indie comedy "Chef" the director announced by way of Vine.


The story follows Carl Casper (Favreau) who loses his job as a chef in Los Angeles, and decides to start up a food truck to get his culinary juices flowing again, and reconnect with his family

No deets were disclosed on Hoffman's role in the pic.

Scarlett Johansson is playing Molly, the restaurant manager and Carl's on-and-off love interest.

Favreau wrote the script from which he will direct.

Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, and Robert Downey Jr. co-star.

Favreau, Karen Gilchrist and Sergei Bespalov are producing.

Production is already under way in L.A. to meet a May 9th 2014 debut

This project is not to be confused with the other film called Chef, which has Bradley Cooper and Omar Sy attached to star and Derek Cianfrance (The Place Beyond the Pines) set to helm
