X-Force Movie Happening; Wadlow Writes May Direct

Earlier today X-Men Films told us that Fox had registered the domain name X-ForceMovie.com.

Almost immediately speculation swirled about the studio's future plans for the X-Men film series.

Could we see an "X-Force" movie?

The answer was Yes. The comic's creator Rob Liefeld went on Twitter and said that the film is indeed being planned, but that  no green light had been given.

The "X-Force" comic was debuted in the early 1990s described as a more aggressive and darker mutant team. Various fan favorite characters moved in and out of the team including Wolverine, Deadpool, Cable, Psylocke, Cannonball, Domino, Warpath, Sunspot and Colossus.

Liefeld says if a film goes forward, Cable and Deadpool are essential characters.

Fast forward a few hours and THR reports that Kick-Ass 2's Jeff Wadlow will write and potentially direct the film. Lauren Shuler Donner is attached to produce.  No production timetable was given, since its still in very early stages at this point. The suits at Fox will no doubt use Comic-Con next week to make it all official
