Created by toon titans William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the film version sees Faris as a nature documentarian who follows the antics of a bear in the fictional Jellystone Park.
Aykroyd will voice Yogi (I thought he would be playing Yogi foil the Park ranger), and Timberlake is looking likely to voice Yogi's faithful companion, Boo Boo.
The project is s a live-action/CGI hybrid in the vein of Alvin and the Chipmunks and Garfield.
Eric Brevig ("Journey to the Center of the Earth) directs from a script polished by Brad Copeland ("Wild Hogs").
Filming kicks off in New Zealand in December.
