Wow! What a difference! Watching Star Trek-2009 -BD was like seeing it for the first time...What struck me the most was the clarity and detail of the picture...It's great on standard disc but so so much better on Blu. I liken it to someone diagnosed with Astigmatism being given a new pair of glasses. Some folks told me that they can't tell any difference in picture--As someone trained to notice...It's there believe me...
BD also offers users more of an interactive experience with access to related content as you watch the film and more bonus material in general.
As someone with a big DVD collection I'm so glad that you can play standard discs on B-Ray--Otherwise the transition would have been tougher and more expensive out of the gate...
With titles like Alien anthology, Back to the Future trilogy, Collateral, Dr. Zhivago, Excalibur, Indiana Jones films, Mars Attacks, The Maltese Falcon, National Lampoon's Vacation, Saving Private Ryan, Shrek, Shrek 2, Stardust, War of the Worlds (2005), Where Eagles Dare expected on Blu-ray in 2010--It is a good time to make the switch
