The Hollywood Bowl

The Super Bowl tradition continues...

The big game is historically seen as a launch point for many studios Summer blockbuster films with special commercials created for one of the biggest TV events of the year.

Variety has details on the '09 ads. With not all of the spots yet spoken for more cinema peeks may be added...

Each 30-second spot normally costs a hefty $3 million, but by holding off the studios were able to negotiate cheaper rates--just the same.

Already confirmed are "Angels and Demons," "Fast & Furious," "G.I. Joe : Rise of Cobra ," "Land of the Lost ," "Monsters vs Aliens," "Star Trek," "Transfomers : Revenge of the Fallen " and "Up"

The last minute additions could be X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Race To Witch Mountain".

The suits at Warner Bros., MGM. and Summit Entertainment have opted out of the showcase.

I'm really surprised that WB will not have a Terminator Salvation spot for the Feb 1st telecast.
