Trek's Spock Surprise

Everyone knew that the Star Trek reboot was having its world premiere in Sydney, but their was also a surprise screening in Austin, took place on Monday

Happening several hours before the Sydney premiere, the screening in Texas was advertised as a showing of "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" that would preview ten minutes of the new film.

A few minutes into, 'Khan' the print seemed to 'melt' and actor Leonard Nimoy stunned the crowd along with the film's writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman as well as producer Damon Lindelof to introduce a full screening of the flick

The reaction was positive from AICN, CHUD Dark Horizons, Film School Rejects, Twitchfilm, Cinema Blend and Empire.

Meanwhile the rest of the cast and crew - actor Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho Eric Bana producer Bryan Burk and director J.J. Abrams were in Sydney, Australia walking the red carpet for the gala premiere at Sydney's Opera House.

Those lucky ducks in Austin--With a full month to go before wide release--I will have a tough time keeping my expectations in check--given all of this positive press...
