Nice Gals Finish First

Fox Searchlight will turn Jen Sacks' 1998 dark comedy novel Nice into a potential Reese Witherspoon vehicle says Variety.

The story follows a magazine writer who accidentally kills her boyfriend. She finds a way to get rid of the body and discovers that killing boyfriends is easier than breaking up with them.

Warner Bros.tried to adapt the property as a lighter-toned project with actress Helen Hunt but never got it off the ground.

The plan is to maintain the dark, edgy tone of the novel for the film.

Ben Queen, best known for creating the failed TV show "Drive," adapts the script.

Witherspoon will also co-produce.

Witherspoon likes her rom-coms it's good to see her go dark once in a while.
