Director Robert Rodriguez is keeping himself very busy...The guy has several projects he's working on, among them is a plan to relaunch the "Predator" franchise...
Rodriguez announced his plans yesterday at a press conference at his Texas-based Troublemaker Studios where he was on hand for the signing of a new state film incentive.
First up he's gonna do "Machete" a movie, based on the "Grindhouse" faux trailer, of the blade-wielding antihero.
Danny Trejo plays the Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for handling a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, who is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator.
Filming on that kicks off in June in Austin with Ethan Maniquis co-directing.
Rodriguez has also scripted "Predators," a film that will bring back the alien hunter first seen in the still rockin' 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger flick.
The creature has been in one dreadful solo sequel and 2 bad but profitable team ups .
This is not really news per se...Bloody Disgusting had the news a while back but this makes it all official like.
“I’m going to be able to shoot my upcoming Machete here, a sci-fi action film called Nerverackers, a re-boot of the Predator series called Predators, and a couple of smaller movies called Sin City 2 and The Jetsons."
