A film version of the classic 50's TV series comedy "Father Knows Best" is on the way says Variety.
The program ran from 1954-1960 and starred Robert Young Jane Wyatt, Billy Gray, Elinor Donahue and Lauren Chapin as the Anderson's a suburban family.
The film will revolve around a father whose modern-day parenting style displeases his more traditional father, who comes to live with the family. They clash over which father knows best.
Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Creasey will write the script.
FKB has almost hit the big screen a few times before, including in 1994 from a script by"Brokeback Mountain" scribes Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana, and again in 2003 with Tim Allen as its star.
I actually like the premise of the film version--there's no way you could a 50's style flick without it becoming a full blown parody.
