Michaela Watkins joins the cast of the romantic comedy "The Back-Up Plan" says The Hollywood Reporter.



Watkins will play Mona, the longtime best friend of Jennifer Lopez in the film--a fed-up wannabe mother who meets a promising romantic prospect the same day she receives artificial insemination..

Former "Moonlight" actor Alex O'Loughlin also stars.

Alan Poul is directing from a script by Kate Angelo.

Shooting begins May 11th in Los Angeles.
