The Simpsons writer/producer Robert Cohen has been hired to helm the low-budget comedy "Park Narcs" says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story sees a college freshman take a summer job as a park ranger at a hard-partying lake after being dumped by his girlfriend. The intervention of a killjoy senator spurs the eccentric ranger crew into action.

Cohen will rework the original Jacob Isser and Paul Lutz script to tailor it to the actors once they are cast with offers going out this week.

The film is going for an 80's-style comedy vibe

Filming begins this Summer either in Canada or Utah
