Percy's Mom Is Keen

Catherine Keener has joined the cast of "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Rick Riordan's fantasy-adventure book series that sees the Greek gods in modern times, and involve Poseidon's half-human son, Percy, who is on a quest in modern America to prevent a war among the gods.

Keener plays Percy's mother, who has battled to protect her son from otherworldly forces but has been abducted by Hades.

Chris Columbus will call action co-writing the adaptation with Craig Titley.
