Just off his hosting last night's Tony Awards actor Neil Patrick Harris has booked two new flicks - a lead role in Josh Shelov’s comedy The Best And The Brightest" and a supporting role in “Beastly” says The Hollywood Reporter.
'Best' revolves around a couple (Harris and Bonnie Somerville) from Delaware who move to New York's Upper East Side and enter the world of the city's private kindergartens where the class-aware wife feels out of place.
Amy Sedaris, the brilliant John Hodgman (the "PC" in the Apple computer TV ads), Kate Mulgrew and Christopher McDonald. also star.
Production recently began in Philadelphia.
'Beastly' is a modern retelling of "Beauty and the Beast " in which Harris is playing a blind tutor who helps and bonds with a teen (Alex Pettyfer ) who is turned into a hideous young man.
Daniel Barnz calls the shots as pre-production is underway in Montreal.
Good for NPH whose best films thus far are Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle--playing himself and Starship Troopers.
