Guy Pearce is in final negotiations to join the supernatural thriller "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" remake says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on the great 1973 telefilm, the new film's story deals with a young girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with demonic creatures.
Bailee Madison has the lead as the girl. Pearce will play the father, an author frustrated by his daughter's tales of monsters, not believing her even when his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) backs her.
Produced by Guillermo del Toro who also co-wrote the script along with Matthew Robbins
Pearce--a fabulous actor is due for high profile attention ala like he got for L.A. Confidential or Memento
