Variety reports that actress Diane Lane has won the lead in Randall Wallace's true horse flick "Secretariat".Mike Rich ("The Nativity Story") wrote the script based on the life story of Penny Chenery, whose racehorse Secretariat won the 1973 Triple Crown.
Chenery, dubbed the "first lady of racing", entered the sport when she was forced to take over her sick father's horse farm...
Lane is a fine choice for the role... Been a fan since her Rumble Fish and The Outsiders days in 1983...She needs a hit film though...
The film is due out sometime in 2o1o
