Gary Ross will write the Lance Armstrong biopic according to the Risky Biz Blog.
Based on Armstrong's first book, It's Not About the Bike--it tells his story from his difficult Texas upbringing, his cancer diagnosis in 1996, his relationship to first wife the birth of their child and his remarkable comeback from illness that saw him first win the Tour de France in 1999.
Matt Damon is the latest actor to circle the part-Both Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey were both mentioned as well but there remains no official casting decision has been made.
Ross knows all about writing inspirational sports movies having penned Seabiscuit...
If I were casting the pic--of the three names mentioned--I go with Jake. He's the best actor among them.
