Amy Adams is in negotiations to join Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg. in "The Fighter" reports THR.The film tells the life tale of boxer Micky Ward (Wahlberg) and trainer-brother Dickie Eklund (Bale), chronicling their early days on the rough streets of Lowell, Massachusetts , through Eklund's battle with drugs and Ward's eventual world championship in London.
Adams will play Charlene, a gritty bartender and former college high-jumper from Massachusetts who ends up dating Mickey.
Adams is a good fit here...
Over the years, some of Hollywood’s top talent, including Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and director Darren Aronofsky have been attached. The writers strike of 18 months ago also slowed things down.
David O. Russell is directing the film which begins production next month in Lowell.
