Steven Conrad will rewrite the remake of "The Karate Kid," remake aka Kung Fu Kid (awful title) says Risky Biz Blog.

Conrad replaces Chris Murphy who was originally hired to write the script of the reboot starring Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith and Taraji P. Henson.

Conrad, who previously worked with Smith on The Pursuit Of Happyness, will spend the next few weeks rewiring the original draft

Directed by Harald Zwart, shooting is slated to begin sometime next month in China for a June 11, 2010, release.
