Timothy Dowling.wrote the spec script that centers on a group of six childhood friends who get together in their late twenties for a treasure hunt that echoes the hunts of their youth, in the process exploring longtime friendships and grudges.
Cutting his teeth as director on the dreadful Will Ferrell comedy "Semi-Pro," means Alterman better have solid folk with him in this one in order for it to work.
Or better yet why not just change the story a bit-- reunite the original cast and call it The Goonies 2?
