Amma Asante's film tells the story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha Raw) the half-black illegitimate daughter of renowned Admiral Sir John Lindsay , eventually taken in and raised as an aristocratic lady in 18th Century England by Lindsay's uncle William Murray, 1st Earl of Mansfield.
Reid replaces Sam Claflin who was to play a love interest but had to drop out due to his commitment to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire". Felton's role is unknown.
Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson, Matthew Goode, Emily Watson, Sarah Gadon, Penelope Wilton and James Norton also star.
Damian Jones will produce the film.
Production kicks off September 23rd in London, in Oxford and on the Isle of Man.
