The latest industry bits:
**Morgan Creek Productions is moving forward with three high-profile projects close to being green light says Variety.
The most interesting among them is Passengers starring Keanu Reeves
The sci-fi/romance flick takes place in the future, as a spacecraft is transporting people to colonize a distant planet. Because of a malfunction, a single passenger (Reeves) is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he awakens a beautiful woman.
Jon Spaihts wrote the script while Reeves will co-produce.
Let's hope it's not as heavy handed or just as awful as his last genre movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" remake
**Watchmen director Zack Snyder tells /Film:
"I think that’s still happening. I think they’re still going to do a limited run of it, or they’re still talking about it anyway"-referring to the limited theatrical release in July of the 190-minute cut of the film.
I hope so...
**Michael Caine also spoke to /Film and thinks that the next Bat-film will likely not be released until 2012...
I hope it does not take that long....
**Chris Pine (pictured) told MTV that he has 'not been offered' a role in The Green Lantern, nor has he even read the script...despite this post
**UK tabloid The Daily Express claims that Tom Cruise hopes to produce a remake of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which he intends to star in with John Travolta. The article claims that that Cruise actually got original star Paul Newman's blessing before he died...
Butch is one of those flicks that should NOT be remade...
