William Hurt has joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s untitled Robin Hood film (previously titled Nottingham)." according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hurt will play William Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke, a historical figure who was one of the most powerful men in Europe. Marshall was a servant to the Plantagenet kings and one of the best jousters of the era.

Hurt makes another great addition here. Can't wait to see some footage...
Russell Crowe toplines the movie, which is billed as a retelling of the origins of the legend's key characters. Cate Blanchett is Maid Marian. Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand and Alan Doyle appear in the film as the Merry Men which just began shooting in the UK.
